This seems to be working fine in 2.19 Beta 5..... So probably a non-issue / already fixed.

Maybe related to bugid#649 - need to check

Phil –

I have been using X-Mouse for several years now, mostly to speed up online grading.  I mainly am adding commentary to Microsoft Word files.

So I’ve more or less mapped the “new comment” shortcut ALT + CTRL + “M” to a button, and the “highlight” shortcut ALT + CTRL + “H” to another.

And the new (odd!) behavior is that Word now behaves as though the “ALT” is still being held after I have released the button.  For my own purposes, I can troubleshoot this…. and probably find a workaround.  For sure, I have discovered that explicitly pressing and releasing ALT restores normal function in word.

I was bringing it to your attention largely because it is:

  1. new behavior
  2. that I noticed first on my home computer, but had not infected my work computer until I upgraded to 2.18.8 today.  Sadly, I can’t tell you which version I was running previously… so I don’t know where the new “feature” got implemented!

So, anyway, FYI!

Thanks for all your work and coming up with this implementation in the first place!
